The Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisan Store (http://www.spectrumartgallery.org -- 61 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT) is an outgrowth of the Arts Center Killingworth (http://artscenterkillingworth.org). Spectrum has a lovely space and a wonderful location in the center of Centerbrook. They run regular shows that turn over every six weeks or so. Their current show is "Text Messages", an exhibit of regional and national artists who integrate text, foreign languages, and/or calligraphy into their pieces to give deeper meaning to their work. I am proud and happy to say that three of my pieces are in this show. * "Shrine for Ghandi" -- a multi-media homage to the life and teachings of Mohandas Ghandi. * "Shrine for Secular Persons" -- a multi-media piece celebrating spiritual sayings by non-spiritual people * "Iraqi Women Voting" -- a multi-media glass piece honoring the women and their courage who chose to vote in the first election after the U.S.-led regime change in Iraq. This is a strong show and will remain up through May 15th. I encourage you to visit the Spectrum Art Gallery, should you be down on the shoreline.
