OLD BUSINESS
- Madeleine gave mailbox report; waiting for carrier to assign boxes. Karen to pass out keys when the assignment is received.
- Weed committee report – Sue noted that she received the bill from Aquatic Control (there was a note included encouraging us to schedule the treatment). Jim reported:
- Recommendation by Aquatic is chemical treatment.
- Study indicates a diversity of plant species, and there are some “species of concern”…as such, obtaining permits for treatment may be more involved.
- Projected costs: depending on chemical used and whether we do whole lake, 16-17K for first treatment (includes permit fees, treatment for main lake and lower lake, well testing)
- Presentation scheduled for February 26, 2008. Location: North Congregational Church meeting room, 7pm? A letter will be sent to residents and interested parties. All volunteer to bring baked goods and juice (provide food and they will come!)
- Announce the meeting in the Granby Drummer.
- See website: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/manitookfriends/
- Funding discussed. Tag sale? (Karen to ask Laudatis if we can hold tag sale at their camp property)
- Madeleine and Lance will knock on doors in the Allen Road and Route 10 area to raise awareness and invite to presentation meeting.
Adjourned 8:40pm
Next board meeting scheduled for February 21, 2008.
Respectfully submitted,
Karen Suponski, Secretary
